The founding members of the Association are the Confederation of Finnish Industries EK, NASDAQ Helsinki Ltd and Finland Chamber of Commerce.
According to the rules of the Securities Market Association, companies listed in the Helsinki Stock Exchange are eligible for Supporting Membership. The Board of Securities Market Association may also decide to accept other organisations as Supporting Members upon application.
According to section 11:28 of Securities Markets Act, all Finnish listed companies are obliged to directly or indirectly belong to an independent self-regulation body established in Finland that has issued proper recommendations on the takeover practices. The Securities Market Association acts as the afore-mentioned body. Finnish listed companies can comply with the aforementioned obligation by becoming a Supporting Member of Securities Market Association.
Supporting Members are subject to annual membership fee. Securities Market Association reports its Supporting Members annually to Finnish Supervision Authority (FSA).
